One other possibility to check into is a NASTY index buffer feature. If
your system has been up for a while, do an onstat -P|tail and look at btree
vs. data percentages. If you have the feature, the btree pct will be VERY
high -- 90+%.
Fixing is simple -- add an environment variable NOLRUPRIO to Informix's.
profile and restart your instance.
Think it might be fixed in your version, but can't remember.
