Hi, If you have Informix Dynamic Server then use the following sql-statement ' select DBINFO('version', 'full') from systables where tabid = 1' result from the sql is : Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC5 Take a look in Informix Guide to SQL: Syntax for more about DBINFO. Nope. Does not work in 5.xx, 6.0x, 7.1x, or 7.2x. Probably not in 8.xx or 9.1x either though I cannot check that out! Art S. Kagel
