How to link c4gl?

Hi all I want to use the standard cc linker to execute the following link command (note that all object files have been compiled using c4gl). c4gl -o ./bin/prv_util.4ge ./bin/prv_mon_client.o ./bin/prv_util.o ./bin/libone.a ./bin/libtwo.a Just using cc gives lots of errors - has anyone done this before and know which extra libraries I should be passing in or whatever? TIA Robert

Since you've not told us which version of I4GL you are using, no-one can answer the question. The library list varies from version to version. The sequence of the libraries varies from platform to platform. If you have any intention of keeping the code remotely working, you won't even bother to find out what you have to write on the command line, because it will change when you change o/s, or machine, or version of I4GL. * Use the c4gl script to link I4GL programs. * Use the esql script to link ESQL/C programs. Do not think of doing otherwise! Ever! For any reason whatsoever. I've yet to hear of a valid scenario where you should not use the scripts to do the linking, and I've had quite a few scenarios thrown at me. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

The reason is that we want to use Purify which requires that you link using cc or ld - it doesn't like c4gl. I have posted on behalf of a colleague and will find out the details (platform is HP/UX version is around 7.24). Would it be alright if I got him to email you directly? Thanks Robert
