I have an Informix DS 7.30 UC9-1 on a HP-UX 10 box. I want to implement fragmentation on a table but want to split it up according to what week number a date in the table falls in. Can this be done or am I attempting the impossible?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Benny Lago Alliance Entertainment, Inc. If your fragmentation expression is too complex, it can adversely affect performance. Is there any other field you could fragment by? Such as the modulus of a serial column? If you're going to be selecting by that aforementioned date field, but you expect to be selecting all of the dates for one week, then you would probably get better performance fragmenting in some other way so that you can take advantage of multithreaded scans. -- # unrm / ksh: unrm: not found # man cpio Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
