ESQL Problem

To whomever can help me We are having a problem in ESQL c with the define and typedef statements. We are using INFORMIX version 6.00 on a Hp machine. In one of my files I have a define using esql c EXEC SQL ifndef __GREETINGS; EXEC SQL define __GREETINGS; EXEC SQL define GOODBYE 1; EXEC SQL define HELLO 2; EXEC SQL endif; then later on in the program I check to to see if __GREETINGS is defined but this time using the regular c define statement. i.e., #ifndef __GREETINGS #define __GREETINGS #define GOODBYE 101 #define HELLO 102 #endif This gives me an error that __GREETINGS has already been defined.(i.e. it is an illegal redefinition of the __GREETINGS statement). If anyone can help me get around this problem. Please could they let me know as soon as possible regards Aryeh
