The products are solid, the only thing missing is a marketing plan. After reading much of the comments Bob Finocchio has made in the trade and stock market press lately, it appears that they have good solid leadership. Marketing involves not only ads, but also plans that involve customers and developers. This will be the key to getting things on the right track, along with attractive pricing of the products. Changing the perception of a slow-response company will involve frequent communication in places like c.d.i., and other media where developers and customers are found. Articles for technical magazines would be a great help as well. Communication is the key to changing perception. Quickly responding to user requests and providing developer support should be at the top of the list of priorities. Bob F. mentioned in one interview of getting more channel partners involved in moving their software. He acknowledged the fact of how difficult it is to get the software. Soon, you might just see Informix software available through some pretty remarkable channels, dare I say, even retail.
