Hi, anybody knows whether it is possible to rename a stored procedure in Informix IDS 7.31? I tried it like if it were a database or a table and it doesn't work: rename procedure sp1 to sp2; Thank you all. Alan
nope
dbschema -d <db> -fp <yourspl> somefile.sql
-- ahum if i am not mistaken....will dump it in somefile.sql
then drop it and recreate it (with a different name ) using
somefile.sql

dbschema -d <db> -f <yourspl> somefile.sql. What does the p option do?I tried it and it just seems to supress blank lines at the begining of
the file. I know p will give you the permissions when used with
dbschema.
sorry for V9 it's -fp <procname> and -ff < funcname> for V7 it should be -f just tryed it and it should work... Superboer.
Drop and recreate. Don't forget a) to update stats on the stored procedure afterwards. (And don't have the PDQPRIORITY env variable when you do the update stats or the stored procedure always runs at this PDQPRIORITY!). b) to drop and recreate any triggers that depend upon this stored procedure. I would have a script to drop and recreate all stored procedures/triggers stored somewhere. SPL is quick to recreate!
