Original article below. I suggest using 'set explain on' to see *where* the cost of the query is lying. It may then be possible to rewrite it using TEMP tables to reduce the cost: DATABASE yourdb END SELECT select-1 INTO TEMP temp1; SELECT select-2 INTO TEMP temp2; SELECT temp1.*, temp.2* WHERE temp1.abc = temp2.abc END Or however a way is found to reduce the cost.
