Hi all,
Quick questions about dbaccess, hope you can helps :o)
How could I list all the databases that resided in a particular dbspace
(rootdbs) on network drive, if i doesn't have any DBA privilege? For
instance, a new database was created but the database name doesn't
appears on the dbaccess->select screen. However, i still can select the
database and run my sql statements on dbaccess->query-language. Why?
Thanks you in advance

The message is a little unclear...but....I think you might want to take a
look at groups in the sqlhosts file. There is a very good description in
the Sys Admin manual.

You must be more specific as to what server you are using. If its online
engine, you can query the sysmaster:sysdatabases to list everything you
need. You can use the dbinfo() to return the dbspace ... its easier ;-)
However, this function if using SE is not supported.
Here is a query ... to run in dbaccess
select name, dbinfo("DBSPACES", partnum) dbspace, owner fromsysmaster:sysdatabases
That will list the databases within a particular dbspace.
As to not being capable of viewing the databases, be sure that all your
required Informix variables are set. INFORMIXDIR, INFORMIXSERVER,
INFORMIXSQLHOSTS, ONCONFIG, PATH=$PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/bin. As well be sure
that you are running a supported term emulator. Other than that, there
should not be a problem. If you have many databases check for the ".." which
would switch you to more databases in your database->select from dbaccess.

Sorry it should be dbinfo("DBSPACE",partnum) not DBSPACES.
