This seems to be a general problem: when doing dbexport to tape (under
5.03), Informix wraps the tape length around 2GB (I discovered this
when I specified that my 4-something gig tape has 4000000 k; dbexport
asked for another tape very soon; I dumped original one and found 854272
k written in the header.)
BTW, you just might be able to export your database to tapes (a lot of
them), since it will split long unload files between volumes. However,
be sure to have a good, 'normal' level 0 backup, just in case...
