Slowness again

OK so I changed the LRUS to 127 and the CLEANERS to 80 but did not yet change the LRU MAX and MIN. Had a few different suggestions on ratio, but what number do I start at for the MAX? Right now it is 60. Is there some kind of calculation that I would use? I also found that more processors were added to the machine so I upped the NUMCPUVPS to 8 . I am REALLY a newbie with hardly any Informix training (basically programming- I got this job because no one else wanted it and they knew I could learn it....) I am learning "by the seat of my pants". I am starting to go thru the CBT courses, but slowly, and of course reading all Informix On-Line docs that I can get my hands on and of course this newsgroup.. (Now I didn't say this for sympathy, just for some understanding of how much of a newbie I really am) I am leery of making all the changes that were suggested at once, so which ones are the most important? Or are they all equally important? One suggestion was also to look at the disks (rearrangement). When we look at the machine, our i/o's are at 1%, so would there be a need to rearrange the data on the disks? My System Admin feels that would not solve anything. I sure don't want to kill the data, so again any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Robin
