Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi,
My physical log is 10000kb and number of users never exceed 350, still every
time I bounce the database, I get this message after few hours of recycle:
WARNING! Physical Log size 10000 is too small.
Physical Log overflows may occur during peak activity.
Recommended minimum Physical Log size is 20 times maximum
concurrent user threads.
I used to get this message when my physical log size was 6000kb. Now I bumped
it to 10000kb.I am still getting this message and the subject line of the
alert that I get is: Dynamic Server Initialization Failure which sounds very
scary especially when there are quite a few people on the list. I guess my
question is how much should this physical log be in size so we dont' get this
error from online log.
Thanks,
Sunita

I have a server about the same size. My $ONCONFIG, PHYSFILE 78000. This seems
to work fine. Check points are Ok and not too frequent. No errors at boot
time. IDS 9.4.FC7 on HPUX 11i
My server (IDS 10.00.UC4 / RedHat AS 3) shows about 120 sessions (from
'onstat -g ses') and we have PHYSFILE set at 100000 and LOGSIZE is
35000. We don't get the warning for Physical Log.
