Folks, A not so interesting little thing. I need to do a sperform for a table with two fields; a key_field and a date. If the key_field value exists in a second table (which has no other columns but this key_field) then I want to ABORT add. If I had more than one column in the second table I would lookup joining on the key_field and stick the secondary column in a junk field on a second screen and test for non-null BEFORE EDITADD. Can anyone think of another way to do this? We don't have esql/c. And the requirement is not worth writing a 4gl for - or even modifying the skeleton Add/Change/Delete.4gl j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| "Why would anybody do drugs, when jparker@hpbs2561.boi.hp.com | they can go shopping?"
