The good news is, although you won't know which disk the tables are on, these new disk systems are just so fast, and so sweet, that you no longer have to worry about such things. The bad news news is, I'm lying. :-) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. I don't know about IBM's SAN, but you face essentially the same problems of 'where is it' with any mass storage system, such as EMC or Hitachi. And, yes, these guys really are 'sweet'. Been running on EMC equipment for better than 3 years and have lost NOTHING to failed disks. Why? EMC systems will 'call home' if a disk gets flaky and a service tech shows up at the back door with a new disk. Hot-swap and re-sync. Still knocking on wood, though.
