Hi,
please read the chapter "Logging and log administration" = with all
its subsections in the "Administrator's Guide" manual (in the Know=
ledge Center: "Administering" -> "System Administration" -> "Administ=
rator's Guide" -> "Logging and log administration").
I think it explains in sufficient detail the underlying c= oncepts for
the different recovery phases, including "restore recovery", i.= e.
the different cases of restoring a backup.
Once you are through with this "literature", I think much= of the
confusion will be solved. :)
Regards, Martin

Hey Martin, believe me when I say I have read and read and read before I ask my questions. I think I have at least 6 different manuals for informix 11.5 and I'm guessing they have to be 10,000 pages. :)
