Hello all, I have a really simple question but I need some in depth answers. Which is better 7.24 or 7.3. Handling cusory routines ( that is opens one cursor and then another and using one curosr to return data to the other ) Data thoughput once in the buffer cache? Managability? Just the pro's and cons on 7.24 vs 7.3 Right now we run 7.24uc5, and I HATE the release. I need a good reason press for 7.3. One last one: Which is better to run informix on sun or HP.

HP has no /proc-Filesystem, no truss, no sar -r, no /dev/zero, .....
SUN has a /proc-Filesystem, truss, sar -r, /dev/zero......
and most of all, there is more Software available.

Although both Solaris / Sun OS and HP-UX are both primary ports I find Solaris a little better to work with. In addition I believe that most people within Informix tend to use Solaris during the development hence they are more familiar with it. As a result of this you are not going to get as many porting issues as you might with HP-UX. The only thing that I can say in HP-UX's favour is that it does have a Logical Volume Manager which can if used correctly be useful at times.
