DBSPACETEMP - IDS 11.50.FC7

I am encountering an issue on my production database server with my temporary
dbspaces filling. Whilst investigating this, it seems that not all of the
temporary dbspaces as listed in the onconfig are being utilized!
DBSPACETEMP
tempdbs01:tempdbs02:tempdbs03:tempdbs04:tempdbs05:tempdbs06:tempdbs07:tempdbs08:tempdbs09:tempdbs10
It seems that all the temporary dbspaces with the exception of tempdb10 are
being used. Is there a limit to the number of temporary dbspaces you can
allocate? Or is there a limit to the length of the DBSPACETEMP variable in the
onconfig? I may have to increase the sizes of my temporary dbspaces as they
are currently only 245mb each. However, I would like to see them all being
utilized before doing so. The O/S is Red Hat Enterprise 5.5 x86_64. As always
any info greatly appreciated.

Andrew Clark
Hello.
According to the documentation (on my release 11.7), the limit for DBSPACTEMP
configuration parameter list is:
range of valuesThe list of dbspaces can contain standard dbspaces, temporary
dbspaces, or both. Use a colon or comma to separate the dbspaces in
your list. The length of the list cannot exceed 254 bytes.Just a tip: you´ve
mentioned "tempdb10" is not used, but in your list, you´ve put tempdbs10, is
that right?
Maybe you´re mispelling the correct dbspace name...

I would like to thank all those who assisted with this post. It appears that the process that failed did specify temp dbspaces & was not utilizing all of them!! So Informix is working as intended, I just needed to reprimand some developers :) Thanks again. Andrew Clark
I have a client with 22 temp dbspaces and they are all utilized. The
string is not shorter than yours.
It may be that the use environment does not have the 10th temp dbspace
listed in the DBSPACETEMP environment variable which overrides the server's
default setting in the ONCONFIG file for that user's sessions.
