Re: CDR USING COMAND LINE UTILITIES

Javier - That was one of two points I made in reviewing the re-write of the class manual - 1) complete missed the Primary - Target scenario ( other than a mention of it ). 2) needed to show more scripting so those that see a need to tear replication out and put it back in could do so quickly... BTW: The re-write looks very good - The Informix ER class should be much better now. OH - One thing to remember after you set this up. If you truly want the Primary controlling the data - BE SURE to revoke all but select permissions on the Target replicate (make it read only!)... Otherwise users can update the Target table and cause inconsistent data. Here is a sample of a Primary - Target setup script. =========================================================================== = # script name def_repl cdr define replicate -c glacier_er -C ignore -S tran -R -A -T -i rpl_cust \\ "P stores7@glacier_er:informix.customer" "select * from informix.customer" \\ "R stores7@hoodoo_er:informix.customer" "select * from informix.customer" \\ cdr start replicate rpl_cust glacier_er hoodoo_er =========================================================================== = Eric P. I 've checked the clus syntax but i can't find a way to define PRIMARY -TARGET replicates. Please, if someone have done it before, please let me know. Any comments will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance Javier
