Compile exec bladelette on Intel
Posted in 2011

Hi All,
IDS Version: 11.70.FC2
Sunos 5.10
DELL/Intel hardware
We are running some tests in a VMWare virtual environment on a Dell/Intel
hardware
running Solaris 5.10.
Can someone please provide me with the correct procedure to compile and link
the exec bladlette.
I have treis compiling using gcc and gld but get all kinds of errors.
"(4): The C Language Module </opt/informix/extend/Exec/bin/exec.bld> can't load
reason: ld.so.1: oninit: fatal: relocation error: R_AMD64_32: file
/opt/informix/extend/Exec/bin/exec.bld: symbol (unknown): value
0xfffffd7ffeb01f16 does not fit"
Thanks
You sojourn need the exec database in 11.cc, the functionality to do dynamic
SQL in SPL is now built in.

Thanks for the advice Art. The problem is that we use the exec udr extensivly and do not want to spend a lot of time changing code.
It's not hard to recode your procedures to use the built-in Dynamic SQL. I did it for a client's systems encompassing hundreds of procedures and functions in a few days. If you like I'd be happy to do it for your systems as well (billable time of course), but it can almost be scripted. I did about 90% of the work with emacs macros. Art Art S. I'm missing something. You shouldn't need the EXEC bladelet for your code to run? -- Cheers, Obnoxio The Clown http://obotheclown.blogspot.com I will now proceed to pleasure myself with this fish.
