I have a client that is migrating to MSSQL from Informix. I downloaded the client SDK from IBM's website but have not been able to connect to the SCO Informix server. We are tring to connect from a Windows2000Pro workstation with the 2.81sdk Any help would be greatly appreciated. IBM Informix Server = 192.168.1.1 Hostname = Server1 Protocolname = seipcpip (I have been using this as it was in the sqlhosts file) service name = data_online database name = data_dbs username = root password = rootpassword We have been looking at the sqlhosts file in \\usr\\informix\\sqlhosts server1 seipcpip server1 data_online Should I change the data_online to 1526 (port#) ? Any other idea's ? Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If data_online is listed there and it points to your port, then it should work, otherwise add the following line: data_online 1526/tcp # Informix client port You don't need to restart anything after change to services file. I wouldn't use port number directly. > Any other idea's ? > You're using root as a database user???? Hmmm... Gorazd
