URGENT: Informix JDBC Driver !!!!!
Posted in 1997
Hi, I 'm writting an applet that will use Informix JDBC Driver from Data Director for Java on NT. Because the databasae server (IUS) is on a SGI machine so I need to use RMI method to communicate with it. I use the following command to start the RMI server on NT machine: start rmiregistry java informix.api.remote.rmi.server It seems that the server started with no problem. So I use the following codes try to get the connection on the client applet from the SGI database server through the RMI server by providing the database, system, URL, user and password information: Driver driver = Class.forName("informix.api.jdbc.JDBCDriver"); Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:informix-api-remote:rmi://wing.dbz.com......user=..."); It works very fine when I use appletviewer to view this applet but when I try it on Netscape. It always return an error message saying : Warning: Thread.suspend() was called; Navigator deadlock might result # Security Exception: Couldn't connect to 'wing.dbz.com' with origin from ''. But when I put this applet onto the web server on the same machine and run it. It return an error message saying : Warning: Thread.suspend() was called; Navigator deadlock might result java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver Is there anybody have any idea .... or it seems like because of the security issue on browser when the applet try to download the JDBC driver from the server side onto the client 's machine.... ???? How comes the user need to download any driver I thought which is handled by the rmi server ??? Anyway... please help. Thanks in advance Wing
