It isn't a technical argument. So far, there have been overriding technical obstacles. The application is mostly data entry, searching and reporting. A GUI might add something for casual users. I question whether the effort would be worthwhile. C is fine and a small part of the system is written in C out of necessity. Code productivity is miserable. No one here cares about what's inside! It's results that count. I suppose I could move to a really productive environment, ie Smalltalk.
