Max dbspace is 2gb, No. It used to be 2048 x 2GB, which is 4TB. I believe this has been increased in IDS+EPO, I don't know about IDS. > max chunk + offset is 2gb, True. > so partitions on drive can only be utilized up to 2gb. Am I to understand that > Informix cannot handle larger drives? Please help. I always recommend buying lots of small disks, for performance. In terms of performance, I WOULD ignore the 4.2GB, but if you need to use it, then create 6 x 2GB partitions for RAW access, then mount the remaining 6.2GB and use COOKED chunks. Not good for performance, but utilises the disk. If you haven't paid for the disk yet, go and swap it for some smaller ones. ;-) Cheers, -- Mark. +----------------------------------------------------------+-----------+ |Mark D.
