Ricardo, All your problems will be shortly solved with the release of 4.10 Informix products for DOS. The current x.xx.06 releases for DOS know nothing about BLOBS or the new datatypes, but the 4.10 release does. We are currently in beta for ESQL/C, I-NET PC and I-SQL which will all be released in the April/May timeframe, followed in July by 4.10 versions of SE and C-ISAM. All these releases will work with Windows 3 and DOS 5 (though I-SQL will be full-screen, character-based). Better?
