Yes, there is. There are at least a couple of ways, one with 4GL and one with ISQL. In the 7.1 manuals they seem to have lost the section on FORMS, so I keep a copy of the v4.0 manual handy "Informix SQL Reference Manual, Database Tool Version 4.00, March 1990. Informix Part No. 000-7042. I'd understand if you couldn't find this section. (I'll copy the informix documentation people (again) with this letter so they'll know, too.) The way in ISQL Forms is to use a master-detail relationship, joining the two tables. The quickest example of this is in the user menu provided by Informix. There is a better way in 4GL, which can be written as a pretty slick reader with a total count, "current record" indicator, and other bells and whistles. Of course it costs extra.
