First NEVER use CPU VPs for TCP listener/poll threads (ignore the manual on this) ONLY use NET VPs. Also you should not need 7 listeners 3 or 4 will usually do nicely. If you have any significan volumne of shared memory traffic, however, there should also be a NETTYPE entry for ipcshm using all 7 CPU VPs that will help spread the CPU load across all VPs. In addition, on Solaris it helps to use the AFFINITY parameters to balance CPU utilization. Art S.
