CDR - How to reorganise "trg_send_sbuf" ?
Posted in 2003
Topics: Storage & Space Management
We had a lot of update in our databases (9.21 / 9.30) which are all connected using CDR. After theses updates we recogniced that the table syscdr:trg_send_sbuf allockated a lot of big extents. How can we reorganise this table to get rid of these extents and get the space as free extents back ? -- regards, Gerd Kaluzinski \\\\\\\\|// (o o) --------------------------------------------------ooO-(_)-Ooo--- Gerd Kaluzinski mailto:gerd.kaluzinski@bytec.de Manager Consulting mailto:support@bytec.de Informix Certified Senior System Engineer http://www.bytec.de BYTEC GmbH Telefon: 07541-585-1019 Hermann-Metzger-Str. 7 Fax : 07541-585-2019 88045 Friedrichshafen Ooo. -------------------------------------------------.ooO----( )--- ( ) (_/ \\\\_)
No. well not while CDR is running. 9.3 does not have the trg_send_sbuf table. The stable queue is stored in smart blobs. With smartblobs the space is reclaimed as the smart blob is deleted. Hi
Madison,
thanks for responding.
On a testbox i tried to drop and create this table whils CDR was not running,
but after that CDR showed all replicates active, no errors, but no replication
was done.
Alter table next size and create cluster index did not reorganise (why ??)What about the advice from ART ?
It sounds very goot to try an alter fragment on this table.
Any risk if we do that (after stopping CDR) ?
Best regards from europe !!

If you drop the table, then you loose the replicated transactions.
The best thing would be to move to 9.3. It would be possible to compress
the table via an alter index to cluster, but you would need to be sure that
CDR is not running when you do that.
