New release of utils2_ak
Posted in 2018
Folks: I have released an update to my utils2_ak package. The November 7, 2018 release contains a new feature in myschema to support new functionality in the .xC8 and later releases that permits one to rename system generated indexes. When a constraint is created that does not have an existing supporting index the ADD CONSTRAINT operation will create the required index but will give it a name that begins with a space character making previously impossible to rebuild such an index or move it to another dbspace. Also if one dropped the constraint the auto-named index would drop as well. Myschema has always, by default, produced DDL for such constraints that create the index before the constraint giving it an appropriate accessible name. However, correcting existing auto-named indexes required dropping the constraint. The new --rename-auto-index=<table name matches clause> will generate RENAME INDEX statements for all auto-named indexes for each of the tables who's name satisfies the given MATCHES clause. For example: myschema -d mydatabase --rename-auto-index='ab*' will rename auto-named indexes belonging to tables that begin with "ab".
