Well it's not the long filenames.. INFORMIXSQLHOSTS means something different on Win32 and Unix on Unix: a path to the file containing the sqlhosts on Win32: a name of an NT-Computer whose registry contains the Sqlhost ( in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Informix\\Sqlhost) so you cam put up a central sqlhosts for all clients.
