NewEra with OS/2. hmmmmm Ok this is what I have found out. 1) You need an update from IBM with a new vdostcp.vdd file. If you don't have this file you will not be able to talk to your server. You might also need a replace ment for winsock.dll. The winsock.dll in Warp Connect seems to work as long as you have the updated vdostcp.vdd. I heard that the vdostcp.vdd will be release in the next tcp/ip update. When ever that will happen. 2) MS visial C++ 1.5 will not run in OS/2. But I have heard that there is something you can download to get 1.5 to compile. I can't remember what the name of the file was. But I am sure you could find it. I have not tried to see if this will get NewEra to compile to c-code. 3) I am trying to use P-code since I have not had time to see if I can get C++ 1.5 to compile my code. And NewEra is acting kind of weird when I try to compile to P-code. I have not touched NewEra in a long time, so I might be doing something wrong. I forgot all the steps to compile the damn code. First I went into the windows painter. I painted a smiple screen from the stores7 data base. (Damn, I forgot what I did next) OOO well, but anyways, I got to some problem and I told ot to build the program, well it did not build. I went to some other program and just compiled the one screen and then I went the runner and ran it. Well at least that kind of worked. I was getting some error of it needed some device driver loaded. Welp that is where I am at it right now. I have been trying to get Informix to support OS/2. But I am not having much luck. They seem to be happy to go with Win95. I also heard that Informix was trying to get NewEra to work with Borland C++. I like that idea much better, since I think that Borland makes a better compiler. I have no idea what the status of that is though. If you hear anything about that I would love to know. Matt
