To your problem: You need to RTFM (OnLine Dynamic Server Administrators Guide vol 1 and 2) on multiprocessor configuration settings. PDQ is but a consequence that you may use when the other settings are done. On different versions PDQ may or may not work very well according to other c.d.i. postings. Also Informix suggest you do not use multiple processors on a dual cpu machine due to the added overhead of process switching. Others have found reasonable performance improvments so you need to test for yourself (or ask someone who have tried on exactly your model of HP machine with your version of the OS and OnLine).
