If you mean a server that takes over the disks of a failed server and replaces it using cluster technology you need IDS/XPS (Extended Parallel Server) which has that feature. Art S. Kagel
This would be HDR (High Availability Replication) included as a server feature for about 4 years as a hot-spare backup facility. The secondary/backup instance can be operated in read-only mode, and when the primary goes down, the secondary becomes primary. It's pretty easy to set up and keep going. --mark Harry Sheng wrote: > Hi, Group > > What is the equivalent of Oracle Standby Server in Informix IDS2000 ? > Is replication the only selection ? > > Harry -- ============================================================== Mark Steen Principal Systems Engineer Informix Software, Inc. 8310 N.
