No. You can do this either in onmonitor or using the onspaces utility.
To create a dbspace:
onspaces -c -d dbspace_name -p device -o offset -s size [-m mpath offs]
to add an additional chunk (ie piece of disk) to an existing dbspace:
onspaces -a dbspace_name -p device -o offset -s size [-m mpath offs]
Informix dbspaces are ROUGHLY equivalent to Oracle tablespaces but more
flexible. The offset allows you to define more than one dbspace or
chunk on the same device such that no two chunks overlap.
In the above:
device - device or file name or (better) a link to a disk device or
file.
offset - offset in KB indicating the disk position to start using for
this chunk/dbspace.
size - size of the chunk in KB.
mpath - device or file name or link for this chunk's mirror disk.
offs - offset for the mirror chunk.
