Why not just set LINES=50 and COLUMNS=132? It will override whatever is in termcap. On some platforms, the following startup code will work regardless of the window size: #!/bin/ksh set `stty size` if [ $1 = 0 ]; then export LINES=`tput lines` else export LINES=$1 fi if [ $2 = 0 ]; then export COLUMNS=`tput cols` else export COLUMNS=$2 fi Then you can use fgl_getenv("COLUMNS") in you program to decide which form to open. -- Jeff Sturm ZenaComp Inc. jsturm@zenacomp.com
