Re: fgl_fatal(?) function not found when compiling

4.12.UE1 does not have this problem. 4.14.UC1 does not have this problem. 4.15.UC1 does not have this problem. 4.16.UC1 does not have this problem. 4.13.UD1 has this problem because the command line includes the file efrstub.o -- and this causes all sorts of stuff to be hauled in from the standard I4GL libraries, and then runs you into problems because of a back reference that would be no problem in a real 4GL program but is a problem in the trivial ESQL/C (or C) program you showed. You can try commenting out the line STUBOBJ=${LIBDIR}/efrstub.o in your c4gl file and see whether that works -- it would for the ESQL/C program, and would probably be OK for I4GL programs too. I think the efrstub.o file provides references to shut up shared library linking -- it was not needed in later builds because we removed the references in the first place. PPS: If you run into a weird thing like this, it is worth trying sh -x $INFOMRIXDIR/bin/c4gl ... and seeing what it is actually executing. >From: Colin McGrath <cmm@trac3000.ueci.com> >Date: Wed, 17 Jul 1996 12:24:36 -0400 (EDT) >X-Informix-List-Id: <list.10723> > >If I have a program that has an ".ec" suffix, and I try to compile it >on a DEC Alpha running OSF1 V3.0 with c4gl version 4.13.UD1, I get the >following error: > >ld: >Unresolved: >fgl_fatal > >The program can be as simple as: > >main(argc, argv) >int argc; >char *argv[]; >{ > exit(0); >} > >Is there something I need to do to compile an ESQL/C program with c4GL?
