We are I the process of trying to set up ODBC access from a Windows 95 client PC to a UNIX based Informix application. We have some sketchy set-up instructions - which includes instructions to install CLI and Iconnect from our Informix v 7.23 CD to provide the ODBC driver - this is suppose to make Informix v2.8 ODBC driver available. However when we do this it makes only v2.5 available? This looks similar so we have tried to use it but when we use setnet32.exe to set up the details, we enter the environment details on the first tab, but when we hit the second tab to provide server info it returns the message - cant open registry. We have tried several machines and tried W95, W98 and Win NT WS......all with the same result. Can anyone tell us where to get the Informix v 2.8 ODBC driver for W95? or alternatively give some guidance on why the registry can not be updated. We are not experts in either ODBC or Informix! Any assistance would be welcome... please reply to mailto:MalcolmW@cheltenham.gov.uk -- Malcolm Whitfield malcolm@whitfieldonline.co.uk
