No but New Era can call C and C++ routines that can definitly call scanner API's such as Wang's Open Image API. >If not, how can I move the data from the scanner's software to >New-Era? >Can New-Era, once the image has been scanned, insert the image into an >Online 5.x database? Once you have scanned the image it can be saved to the client PC disk and transferred to the server or if you have unix drives mapped to the PC you can save it directly to say the "O:" drive that is a unix disk on the server. You can store the image in the Online DB but I would only store a pointer to the file location on the server. It stops the size of the DB growing too large. Also if you have a lot of images you will need to look at offline storage such as optical juke boxes where the image is stored on an write once read many (WORM) optical disk. > >Can New-Era retireve and display the image? > Again use an API, note that with Windows 95 the basic Wang Image viewer is now included for free.
