Re: Fail Consistency Check -- newmode

No it does not necessarily mean your data is wrong.
We have seen this message before. Are you using raw device? What might happened
is the physical page on your disk next to the last page of table (partnum
0x03000003) is not being used, this page may contain garbage data, but somehow
in the first 24 bytes(which Informix consider page header) where it usually
means page type, the data happened to be 0x9(which I believe usually means index
page), so tbcheck -pt gave that error message in your OnLine log file.
You can find out which table 0x03000003 is by:
select tabname,hex(partnum)
from systables
where hex(partnum) = '0x03000003';tbcheck -pt on this table, see the number of page used, you can also find out
the physical address of the first page in this table. I think page 0xe9 is right
after the last page of this table.
Anyway, this error message does not really hurt your data. If you want to get
rid of this annoying message, try to insert some dummy rows into this table,
then delete these rows, usually this message will go away. It worked for us.
Hope this helps,

This usually means that there is something seriously wrong with the data.
Are you checkpoint ok or does the same error occur in informix.log ( or whatever
you have called it ) ?
Running tbcheck -ci <database> will check the indexes. This would be good
If you can find no operational errors from this then check with Informix
it may be a bug in the tbcheck -pt program
