Most people will be staying somewhere near Navy Pier, since that is where the conference is. A place near, and easily find-able from there, is in the right location. >2) Likes & Dislikes. There is the CLUB scene, Neighborhood bars, Were you in San Jose last year? Something like what we did there is perfect. We met at Gordon Biersch micro-brewery, and had dinner there. They gave us our own reserved room, which was quiet and out of the way. Once there, we could laugh and make obscure nerd jokes that wouldn't bother the "real" people who were just trying to drink. Save the club "meat-market" scene for later. >3) Price range. Depending on where you go, beers will be between I'm thinking that price is the last consideration, as the company will be picking up the tab for most of the folks, most of the time. Personally, at a time like this, I get a light dinner and a heavy beer tab, and just reconcile the two into a reasonable corporate-rate dinner. Gordon-Biersch is a pretty high-end yuppie place, where "business casual" is appropriate and shorts and flip-flops aren't out of place either. Uncle Mikey, would you assume the responsibility of finding a place and making the reservations? Given these guidelines, we trust your judgement... and if you screw it up we'll get to flame you in person! ;) Clem ________________________________________________ | Clem Akins clema@informix.com | | Informix Software, Inc International Support | | Menlo Park, CA, USA Standard Disclaimers Apply | |________________________________________________|
