If using OnLine, you need I-Star on the SCO box; if using SE, you need I-Net. If you were using a 7.x or 9.x server, you would not need the extra products. You need to be running the sqlexecd on the SCO box, configured to monitor connections to your database. > the linux machine will use perl or C++. > i have tried to install DBD::Informix on the linux > machine and have worked thru most of the errors but i still cant access > any data. You need to get the connectivity sorted out *before* trying to install DBD::Informix! Granted, that means you really need DB-Access on your Linux box, which means you need a server on there, but there are ways around that, too. Since you have CSDK on your Linux machine, you could also compile and install SQLCMD, obtainable from the IIUG at http://www.iiug.org. This does not require working database connections prior to the build and could therefore be used instead of DB-Access to debug your connections. DBD::Informix pretty much insists that you resolve your network connection problems before you compile, test and install it. This is a self-defense manouevre -- it separates the Informix connectivity problems from problems with DBB::Informix. > at this stage i would be willing to pay someone who would be > able to assist me in this task. email me if you think you can be of > help. > > regards > ray@mywindow.com -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
