Informix and dBase for Windows

Hello, our company works with different self written dBase for Dos and dBase for Windows applications. Another company would give us monthly a part of there Database, this would be very useful for us. The Problem is they use an Informix Application on a Unix-machine and no one in this Company is a Database programmer and they will not give us a copy of the whole data. Now I will write an Informix Programm for them, that copys our data. Here are my Problems: - I never worked with Informix, we have to buy it. Is there a DOS/ Windows developer Version? Is it compatible with the Unix-Version? I am a xBase (and a little bit SQL) Database Programmer since 6 years, In the university I have to work with Pascal, Fortran, Prolog, C, C++ and other unknown stuff. - How are my chances? The database structure is unknown? - Is there a IDAPI Driver for Informix? If not, how can can I import (export) it? Has Informix an .DBF-Export Function? Via C, C++ Program? - Where can I get the ODBC Driver? Thanks for your trouble, Regards Werner EMail: tiberius@uni-paderborn.de verwa_wr@physik.uni-paderborn.de
