I'd like to know the same thing. However, I don't think that it can be done, unless there is some undocumented feature out there. (possible) I've had to work around this problem several times now, and I would really like it if Informix would try to add the SQLCA logic to the procedures. I've recently moved a Informix-4GL system to Hyperscript Tools, and I've found that stored procedures are CRITICAL for SQL performance. Work arounds include: 1) putting counters within foreach loops 2) selecting data into temp tables, then counting the results 3) etc. With the advent of New Era, I think that stored procedures will become even more important as people start coding reports and other processes that are too complex for the client to handle. I really hope that Informix can implement a solution here, and before version 22 of the engine. If there is a way to trap SQLCA status from stored procedures, please help us out!
