need help about informix jdbc

This is my first java experiment,then I got the following : com.informix.asf.ifxASF Exception:Attempt to connect to database server (online_c:user=***:password=***) failed. can anyone tell me why and how to solve it ,thanks.

Hi Victor, Can you please supply some more information for us. JDBC URL (and sample Java code if you have it) and a copy of your sqlhosts file JDBC Driver Version JDK that the JDBC driver is running in Informix server version thanks ben.
