"Confined" would be too strong a word. "Among" the differences are those listed, but they also include many, many others. Some of the significant ones are: 7.3 IECC v3 (v4 coming soon) Merge code with IUS, "today's 7" is tomorrow's version 9 Support for NT and Linux Informix Storage Manager Replication Oracle-compatible SQL additions bi-directional indexes To say nothing of 9.x's extensible data types and functions and 8.x's parallelism. You may attend Informix's training class "7.3 Features", which goes into some detail about the newest additions. I went to the old European headquaters of Informix (Sunbury) and the building was closed with cobwebs on the door. A lady in a car park for the building next door said that Informix had left a few months ago (this was last year sometime). Last I heard Malcolm Wellans ( from Infuse) was giving courses at Informix, then he left..... >Clem > >At 08:18 PM 11-01-99 -0000, Amanda Walters wrote: >>What are the differences between Informix pre version 6, and today's version >>7?
