Problem with Solaris 2.4 and Tools: -461 error

Fellow Netters, I have been having problems with 6.x tools accessing a remote 6.x online engine if the client is running Solaris 2.4 If I do a query from isql, I get the results back, by rather then a statement of the number of rows returned, I get a -461 error. 4GL programs die at the foreach line with -461. I have many clients running SUN O/S 4.1.3 with no problem. Any clues?
