This discussion brings up a pretty good point. Informix has 2 different
database servers, INFORMIX-SE and INFORMIX-OnLine. The middle text above
pretty much assumes the person asking the original question was using OnLine
(as dbimport and dbexport ship only with OnLine). The second solution
assumes SE (as you cannot rcp OnLine data, at least not directly {of course,
someone will respond that they do it all the time ;-)}).
I think what can be derived from this discussion is: when asking questions
about Informix, it is a good idea to indicate which of our two servers you
are using, as the answer may well be different for the two.
