It looks like you still don't have the driver installed...the device file
itself isn't gonna do it.

With HP-UX 10.X you have to create the async driver.
In the Kernel - asyncdsk IN
Command line: cd /dev
insf -d asyncdsk
ln -s /dev/asyncdsk /dev/async
