undefined reference to errno

I've upgraded to Slackware 9.1, which includes gcc-3.2.3, and I'm having problems linking (in this case) Art Kagel's utils2_ak programs with Informix-7.30.UC5. I get "undefined reference to errno" from the linker with all the utilities; I'm assuming this is because 7.30 was built with gcc-3.2.2 or previous and I am aware that there is a huge difference with gcc-3.2.3 (this seems to be a problem for a lot of folks based on the Google search results). So, I assume I need to either go back to the older compiler (in which case I'll be stuck firmly in the past) or get current versions of CLDISK, ICONNECT, and IDS? Can't seem to get to the IIUG member area (it can't find /SOAP on the server), so I'm wondering what I really need (I really only work in ESQL/C) and where I might be able to find it? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have no problems with errno on RH 8 w/ gcc 2.96 and CSDK 2.61 (there is a known problem with strcmp in that combination that is solved by changing '#include <strings.h>' to '#include <string.h>' which I will fix in the next release). Kagel Well, went and got CSDK from IBM, can't get the *#$*(@&@ thing to install. Enough to make a guy go back to square one.
