Ideally we would like to call the windows API PostMessage() from within Informix when a trigger on the table is activated. Failing this we would like to load a DLL and call one of its functions from the trigger (or a stored procedure). Failing the above, please comment on how much of a load the writing of a text file from a stored procedure would place on the CPU. We can monitor for changes to the text file. The worst case scenario is to launch an exe file from a triggered stored procedure. There must be a better way... Thanks Grant
