Sorry in advance - couldn't resist... How about if you had the Java application/bean/applet call "Here 4GL Function!" and maybe whistle? Sorry again - I'll let the question for the Java experts. Although that seems an odd combination? Java could easily call SPL (which is very 4GL like) to run 'engine based logic'.
